Doodle today

A few years ago I joined an app that catered to people who like to create drawings out of a simple squiggle or jumbled lines.....we called it a doodle ...unfortunately this app called Doodla went out of business. People would make drawings out of the squiggles supplied by other drawers....it was very popular and competitive....the results were posted and the artists were rated 1 to 100 as winners. many thousands of people participated. We were not allowed to use an eraser and all work was done on the computers with ones finger or a stylus. I saved all mine and improved on some of them with colour etc....also I put them in a format with the squiggle and a caption.....So that is the why and what of these drawings. My friends and  relatives seem to enjoy them and I thought you would as well....

WELL'S SPOONS

In Mt. Vernon, WA years ago a gentleman by the name of Wells developed a thin brass spoon for casting with a fly rod. The Wells spoon iis hand made out of thin material. These spoons (which were  highly sought after) have a great action because  lighter metal used. wells also discovered they worked well in bigger sizes for any type of salmon or trout......the spoon is a popular trolling lure in Sheridan lake ....that's where I found out about them. Mr. Wells passed away some years ago and as fas as I know no one is making the Wells spoon anymore.
To make a long story short I started making them as a hobby and I sold a few here and there and decided I would advertise a bit and sell some of my wares....
I make them in different sizes but mostly 1, 2 and 2 1/2 inch.....they are supplied with a hook.....I also make very small flashers. The 2 inch are the most popular for trout and Kokanee...the 1 inch works well on a fly rod.

Call Gus...
I can be contacted in Chilliwack B.C. At 604 795 9073.        guscales@shaw.ca

3 for 10 dollars ...larger than 2 1/2 inch will be negotiated I reckon.....

Nice evening shot on sheridan lake b.c.....I was visiting and fishing with a friend in early July....

Sorry......

II have been away fishing the last while ...so the blob has been sadly neglected......another thing that makes it tuff...is .....the site that ran the doodle contest has been very negligent in running things properly......there has not been any material for changing a goofy line into a doodle.....I have been posting some of the old ones I did before the site seemed to shut down.....it still operates but nobody is maning  in the controls.....I dunno why ......they keep saying they will be back but....Nada........so I will dig up some stuff to post and hopefully they will get the ducks in a row soon........in the meantime here is a picture of one of the trout we caught on the trip.........

I took this picture........my fishing partner Mel caught the fish on a dry fly about twilight.........it was a good scrapper.....Mel played it for a few hrs before it finally came to the net......getting the fish in the trailer was not to bad....but it was a bugger getting it in the deep freeze........yup....
